Title: Screenshot compare, which one is the best
Post by: TheThing on July 16, 2011, 10:12:15 pm
Hi all.

I was playing around with encoding and testing some options. The latest test is using different resize techniques to scale down an image in half.

Here is the link to screenshot comparison: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/67024

Image 1: Blackman resize Vs Lanczos4
Image 2: Spline32 resize Vs Spline64
Image 3: Blackman resize Vs Spline64
Image 4: Lanczos4resize Vs Spline64

Those are bad quality pictures but that was part of the point. I will see if I can post better compare screenshot later.

Between the two on #2 imo.

It's pretty hard to tell... -_-;;

But I think the second image in all four of those sets are better. That's how I see it at least...

Well, to my eyes, Spline always does a better job.

Probably why it's so commonly used.

My preference is spline36resize.
