Not AMG. There is a similarity in their concepts, though: both have somewhat reversed gender roles, the women do the fighting.

Nope. The anime is based on a manga, which in turn is a spin-off of another manga. As far as I know, there are no other adaptations, and the first manga isn't as well known as the spin-off.
