Support / How to - Download with XDCC.
« on: September 05, 2011, 09:04:04 pm »
First off head over to mirc homepage and download a copy.

> Install it and run it.
> Click the little orange lightning button in the top left.
> Select the severs menu.
> Find and locate the rizon server (I have deleted all by rizon from my copy, the actual list is a lot bigger) and press the select button.

This will take you to the connect screen, on this screen add in a nickname and then hit connect.

The next thing you will need to do is allow the .mkv file format so that you can receive them. To do this:

> Go to tools on the menu bar and select options.
> Then scroll down to the DCC sub tree and select the ignore tab.
> Now just below where it says "Method:" it will say "ignore only", click it and change it to "accept only".
> In the "File type:" box type "*.mkv" and click add
> Click OK.

Next up type "/join #doki" and you will be in Doki irc channel.

Now to find a show you want. Lets say for example i want to download Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica episode 2 at 1080p. You can see the CRC code in the file name, in this case it's EA001B2A.

In the doki irc channel type "@find EA001B2A".

You will see a return string, in this case:

[20:41] -Doki|Yuki- XDCC SERVER - slots:[19/20], Min:10.0kB/s - /MSG Doki|Yuki XDCC SEND x - Found: #452:[Doki] Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 02 (1920x1080 h264 BD FLAC) [EA001B2A].mkv,946M

The important parts here are:

> The command line to use "/MSG Doki|Yuki XDCC SEND x"
> The pack number "Found: #452"

So in order to receive the file you would type "/MSG Doki|Yuki XDCC SEND 452". A warning box will pop up, click OK, then click accept and the download will start.

Another box will pop up at the end letting you know it's complete. As you can see the download speed is generally pretty good.

Note: An alternate way to find the file send message is to click the XDCC link on the release post or at the top of the website and search for/select the file you want, it will pop up the exact line you need. So just copy and paste into mirc.

Anime / Round 1: Uzumaki Naruto vs Kurosaki Ichigo
« on: September 03, 2011, 05:40:25 pm »
Who would win?

Ichigo has:
Hollow-form
Shunpo
Bankai

Naruto has:
Sage mode
Shadow clones
Rasengan
Nine tails cloak

Much as it pains me to side with Bleach on anything, Ichigo's arsenal just seems to be more potent, and his attacks don't require time to charge up. Or am i underestimating Konoha's number one ninja?

So just watched this, anyone else find it pretty boring?

A little over 50% of the way through and i found myself wanting it to just finish and see how the story played out. Beside the usual bleach...

"Oh no he's to strong."

"Oh wait, no he's not. I found some more power."

"Nope, he's kicking my ass again."

"Hoho pwndizzled, my even newer power just won the day."

Support / How to - Fix missing fonts.
« on: August 24, 2011, 06:55:17 pm »
Since i've fluffed up and forgot fonts a couple of times i've decided to put up a fonts.zip with most of Doki's common fonts in it. By installing these you can save yourself the trouble of patching for this issue in future.

You can find it here. It's only 10mb currently, but if other fonts become common i will update the archive with them at a later date as well.

To install:

> Extract the fonts.
> Select them all.
> Right click on them.
> Select install.

Support / How to - Mux in extra audio.
« on: August 24, 2011, 03:49:24 pm »
Some times we will release an audio file, often an English dub. You may want to mux it into your release as the primary track, or even as the only track. Here is how...

Start off by downloading mkvtoolnix, version 4.0 is the best version to use. Install it and then open the mkvmergeGUI.

Now drag your file into the top part of the program where it says "Input files:"

You will see it lists the file parts, and type of file. In this case video first, audio second and subtitles third. So in order to add the new audio drag your new audio file into the input box. If you plan on removing the old audio track uncheck the box next to it as seen in the picture below, if you plan on keeping both audio channels leave both boxes checked.

Now you have your new audio in place, you have the option of filling in the boxes at the bottom. For example...

Track name: FLAC (2Ch)
Language: English

Important: If you plan on just having one audio track you are now finished. Select the subtitle option and set the default track flag to yes. If you do not do this the subs will need to be manually turned on every time you plan the file. Click the start muxing box at the bottom and you are finished.

If on the other hand you are planning on keeping both audio files  you will need to decide on which track you want to keep as the primary track. Once you decide do the same as you did with the subtitle file above, select the default track flag and set the option to yes to ensure your chosen audio plays. Then change the other audio channels default track flag to no. You are now done and can click the start muxing button at the bottom.

Note: It's worth mentioning that if you take audio from different sub groups/sources such as TV or BD your audio may not sync up correctly, so i'd recommend only using audio provided by the group who did the main file.

Support / How to - Apply patches.

How to Patch Files v3 (Scroll down for older methods)

Download the patch files and extract them into the same folder as the episodes.

After extracting, it should look like this.

Double-click "Apply_Patch_Windows.bat" to start patching. If you're using Linux or MacOS, run "Apply_Patch_Linux_and_Mac.sh" in the terminal.

The patching may take a while. You'll see the progress in your cmd prompt or terminal.

Your episode folder will look like this after the patching.

It's recommended to run a CRC32 check on the new files.

If everything went well, you can delete the "old" folder, the xdelta3.exe and the apply scripts.

(Not so) New patching system in 2nd post.

Simple enough...

Download the patch you need from Doki.co and place it/extract it and the file to be patched in a folder (patches usually have the same name, so best to avoid putting them all in one folder).

Double click the "apply patch.bat", and wait...

Rinse and repeat. Should you get an error, make sure the file name is the same as the one in the patch. You can do this by right clicking on "apply patch.bat" selecting "edit" and checking the first file name againt yours. If they are different copy the one from the patch and rename your file.

You should also check the CRC of the file to make sure it's not corrupt some how. For this i recommend using animechecker.

Correct file.

Corrupt file.

Anime / Influential...

So recently started re-watching Death Note, and the first 25 eps reminded me how awesome this show is (up to this point, shame same can't be said for the following eps).

Made me wonder, which characters dying affected you most? L dying was pretty powerful stuff, was sad to see him go, he always looked so rough and unkempt, it kind of made you feel sorry for him.
