Start Menu, what's inside yours?

Speaking of, can you install windows 8 onto a flash drive and boot from it?

I think it's about the same as with other Windowses. It might take a little effort to pull it off, but that's not impossible, I guess.
Oh, and the official downloader/installer can make a flash drive an installation one.

Mostly Office, Dev Tools and a few VNs (most are just folders with everything you need in it so they don't appear here). The windows Apps left are mostly to use the space so it doesn't look too much empty. Strange image is from 3D vision examples images.
For installing Win8 on a flash drive it's a feature of the corporate edition iirc but you should be able to do it with any version if you can trick the installer. The official one should be able to boot on different computer but a normal install of windows can't boot on a different computer. there was a tweak with Windows XP and material profiles to use an installation on an external on several computers but it disappeared with Vista.
