So, I like to RP on forums, and I figured I'd ask if there are any others with similar interests. If it's only one or two people, I'm not gonna bother requesting that they add a section for Role-playing, but if the idea gains more support, I'll either request it, or we can play in this section.
Since you can't for some reason make a poll in this section, just post if you're interested.

To clarify, this is not really about getting a sub-forum here for role-playing. I'm totally fine playing here in the Games forum. I'm just trying to figure out if we have enough people interested for it to be sensible for me to start a game here. Less then 5 players and it's not really worth it, it won't be really fun. I might be able to get one or two friends here if necessary, but I'm hoping to get 5-6 people who're regulars here.

I was thinking freeform storytelling, especially since I doubt all of us are familiar with any one pen&paper RPG system. The GM creates the basic settings, rules&guidelines and the character sheet.
I'm hoping for one more to join us, but at this point I'd like to ask all of you, what kind of an RP are you interested in? What do you want from your RP? Whether it's me or Septe GM'ing, we need to know what's okay with everyone, because we can't afford to leave anyone out with so few of us interested in playing. My main interest is fantasy, though I'm fine with anything, really.

I ran a superhero game with scifi and fantasy elements. It was enormously successful as I kept bringing people back every Sunday (well most Sundays). I'm open to anything

I've actually played Pen & Paper RPG games. And I've had fun. Although playing it over the internet would be... troublesome, to say the least.
Maybe one guy gets a webcam, paper, and pen and runs the game as we all watch him do it?

Ok, since I'm not getting much information on your likes and dislikes, I'm just going to suggest something. If it's fine with everyone, we can begin.
My first idea is a game set in a mostly medieval fantasy world, we're a famous (or infamous, whichever you prefer) group of mercenaries on a mission. I'm thinking something simple and not so epic for starters, such as an infiltration mission in order to help conquer a fortress. Is this basic setting acceptable?

I'm game. Ok. Here's my character: Harold Bjornson - a displaced Norwegian who's a sapper. He's got a talent for directions so he never gets lost. His major weakness is drinking which his personality changes to that of a dashing hero and charms the ladies. He got caught trying to make love to the princess of Norway and got caught. He fled Norway and is now trying to make his way.

Probably no Norway in the fantasy world, though there could be a kingdoms based on Norway.
Anyway, I'll post a character sheet and some basic info on the world, along with the starting settings, in a separate OOC (Out of Character) thread later, first I need to know that everyone's fine with the basic setting.

I actually do have one as I have had a fantasy movie in my head for a long time
My name is Darwin Roday, I come from the great kingdom of Goldan, the place is special for it contains 6 orbs containing power from each element, Earth, Fire, Water&Ice, Air, Shadow and Light. But when the war of thousand nights started the light orb was destroyed. Thus only 5 orbs remaning. I have aquared the power of air, but I can not obtain the other powers for when I gain one element all the others close. Now I am searching for a group to help me train air and become the master of it.

my idea for a character, name (yet not found . . .), i come from a country which has gone trough a rebelion, due to the loss of my parents, i was later on raised by a group of ???? (Depends on how this world is going to be), my strenghts and weakness' will also depend abit on what type of group this is...
i will complete it when more info about the lore is available :)
