Join #Doki on connectAssuming you're already on #Doki, click the "Favorites" tab and then "Add to favorites". Whenever you connect, click the heart icon to see your favorites. This will save you time connecting in the future. If you enable "Join on connect", you'll do just that when you start up mIRC.

Register your nicknameIf you look at the post below this,
convert has written a nice text wall on why you should register your nick name. Just in case it's still to hard for you to figure out, I'll hold your hand through it.
First, input the following to register your nickname:
/ns REGISTER password [email protected]
So let's say you want your password to be "dildos" and your email is "
[email protected]". You would send:
/ns REGISTER dildos [email protected]
If you do this correctly, you should have successfully registered your nick. If not, there are two possible reasons why it failed:
1. Someone has already registered that nick
2. You cannot follow simple instructions
Once you successfully register your nick, you must confirm it. Check the email you registered with, and it should have a confirmation message you need to send NickServ. It should look something like this:
/msg NickServ confirm iuGHFr9Gr
Once you send that, your nick is now yours. Whenever you connect, you'll need to send "/ns identify password" to confirm your password. This is rather tedious. Let's automate it.
1. Go to "Tools" > Options > Connect > Options > Perform

2. From the drop-down, select "Rizon" from the network list and put "\ns IDENTIFY password" as the command. Now tick the "Enable perform on connect" and your nick will be registered whenever you start mIRC up. Huzzah!

Change your VHostAs
convert mentions below, changing your VHost may be a good idea. Rizon's wiki has a pretty straightforward guide (http://wiki.rizon.net/index.php?title=VHost) on doing so.
Note: It may take a few minutes for your VHost to be approved.
Change the fontSo the mIRC default font more or less sucks. It's sorta hard to read, in my opinion. Let's change it. Go to "View" then click "Font" (should be at the bottom). Change the font to whatever is aesthetically pleasing to you and set it to the default for everything. I personally use Gill Sans MT.
