Anime outside of Doki? Preposterous! If Doki isn't subbing your favorite show, you're going to have to get it elsewhere. So how do you XDCC into other groups? There's multiple ways to do so.
Option 1: Find a nice packlistIf you go to
Doki's packlist, you should notice a bot named "Ginpachi-Sensei". It is updated pretty often, and most new releases can be found on it. If not, check
Cerebrate. Unlike Doki's packlist, Cerebrate won't give you a nice copy/paste pop-up. You'll have to manually copy/paste it into mIRC with the number of the pack.
For example, let's say I want to download [Ayako-Nishishi]_Softenni_-_11_[400p][390293F1].avi. I send "/msg Cerebrate xdcc send #1".
There many other similar packlists. I'm not going to list them all, but they are generally easy to find. One of the better ones is
News is Fabulous, since it links to many different bots.
Option 2: Find it yourselfFor whatever reason, if you cannot find what you're looking for on the packlists provided you can still try to find them on the group's site. For Doki, that would be the "XDCC" link that's on every release post. The place to find the packlist link varies between groups, but they are generally easy to find.
Let's say I want a release from
Kira Fansubs.
How convenient! They have an easy to find packlist. Ctrl+f "xdcc" on a group's site can also help you find there packlist link if you're having problems finding it.
Note: Sometimes the trigger that sends the files to you won't work on the channel you're on. If you get an error along the lines of "unsupported bot/message", download it from that release group's IRC channel instead. The group should have there IRC channel link in an easy to find place.
Now let's say the group doesn't have an easy to find XDCC packlist like Doki & Kira. Like,
Elysium Subs.
First, let's go to their IRC channel.
mIRC should open up and ask you if you wish to join the channel. After accepting it, you can favorite the channel, so you don't have to go back to the group blog every time you want to join.
Look at the triggers; "!packlist" is the droid we are looking for. The name of the trigger varies between group, but if you see something like "!list" in the triggers, give it a go. If all else fails, use every trigger. Trigger spamming is fun.
I still couldn't find what I was looking for!Well, not everything is available on XDCC, so tough luck. Look at one of the million guides on how to correctly configure torrents and pray that people are seeding what you need.
