Only in anime can huge-breasted girls run, fight and bounce around with no bra and not feel sore.

I've joined many sites like these, usually nationality-oriented and tech-specific (forums for PSP wares or symbian phone apps, for example) and I say they're quite useful. The risk though, is huge. They do often say what Holo just said, "we don't actually host any of the files here" but some were closed down anyway. I don't know how, maybe they just went out of cash (but that's too improbable) but one day they just went poof.

It would be interesting though, to have a sharing-forum that is full of anime-oriented people. I've never seen one. I've been to forums where people do share anime, but it was never the main focus of the site. It was always the side dish. Hence when I ask about <insert anime other than bleach or narutardz here>, they go "wtf is that?"

Supercell - My Dearest

Guilty Crown OP in goddamn TV Size. Set on Repeat Item. Imagine listening to it around 40-50 times per hour. That's what I've been doing for 6 hours already.

Somebody gimme a shout out when the Single comes out! I just can't get enough of this.

Anime / Re: How much censorship?

Freaking horsey. I almost couldn't stand it in Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai. Except for this one frame discribed below:

Quote
Index: i don't understand, sometimes, they forgot to censor The most important Thing, and censored another Thing
27th Oct 2011, 03:11 AM
TheThing: wasn't there already a thread dedicated to this?
27th Oct 2011, 03:12 AM
TheThing: anyways, going to sleep
27th Oct 2011, 03:12 AM
TheThing: @Index: forgot to censor what most important thing?
27th Oct 2011, 03:12 AM
don juan-: 4-5 more hours before i go to sleep
27th Oct 2011, 03:12 AM
Cronus: well, Index, TheThing is, censorship is based on perspective
27th Oct 2011, 03:13 AM
TheThing: no, I mean, everything else is OK to be broadcasted
27th Oct 2011, 03:13 AM
Index: yeah. like this one
27th Oct 2011, 03:13 AM
mangos: you should go to sleep
27th Oct 2011, 03:14 AM
TheThing: @Index: that was a SINGLE FRAME that went unnoticed
27th Oct 2011, 03:14 AM
Index: look! <i>TheThing</i> is trying to run away!
27th Oct 2011, 03:14 AM
TheThing: fail

Doki Fansubs / Re: The First Time You Came To Doki
« on: October 26, 2011, 09:18:46 am »
From a DDL forum -- you know, those forums whose members give out tons of DDL links for them to gain money from those DDL sites. I lurked there in the Anime uploader's section until the day I asked myself why I never looked closely at their filenames -- they have those other text in front of the actual name of the anime series. I started looking at those [Eclipse], [gg], [Coalguys], [SS], [SFW], [Nutbladder], [UTW], [Conclave], [Menclave], etc. -- whatever they were, I thought. I didn't know back then.

Google and I became partners and through his help, I figured out how fansub groups work. However, before I ever came to the sites of these groups, I first started appreciating the work of those japanese voice actors and of those in the fansub groups. I never downloaded English-dubbed stuff since then. A time nonetheless came when I realized I have to check those fansub groups' sites to know more about them. This was when I first visited Doki.

A while later, I became more aware about which groups frequently drop projects (which I hate), the ones frequently making grammar mistakes (irks me a little), the ones using Engrish (Ah.. *ahem* ...yako), and those who don't even know the terms in the show they're doing (still Ah-Yuck-Oh).

Frankly, back then I just sorted out fansub groups into "good" and "bad" categories. When the world wasn't so black and white anymore, ranks sort of formed and Doki quickly rose to the top of my list of favourite fansub groups. This is the time when I joined the forums.

Manga / Re: Manga: Anime Versions - The Manga Was Better
« on: October 26, 2011, 05:26:45 am »
Yo guys, I'd like some of your feedback about Needless Manga vs. Anime.

Through reading around I found out that the Anime strayed from the Manga to gain some kind of explosive ending. I don't know if that move was worth the ending they achieved, though.

Requests / CG - Anime-adapted VNs
« on: October 26, 2011, 04:24:39 am »
Yo!

Title says it all. Please? :))

...Especially now, I'm kinda drooling over Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai.

Also, these would be nice to have:
Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi
Amagami
Princess Lover
To Heart 2

Those are just special mentions but basically my request is just for more anime-adapted VN CG.

Also, a bunch of thanks to Ixlone for Fate-Stay Night, Mashiro-iro Symphony, Tayutama, Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, Yosuga no Sora and Fortune Arterial.

Anime / Re: The Season So Far...

Ben-Tou actually piqued my interest this week. Yes, it's silly fighting for packed lunches but the characters and their relationships with each other are becoming quite the focus here. It's also the first time in a long time that I found physical abuse of the MC by a female character very funny and amusing. This one is now included in my watch every week list. Ben-tou kinda reminded me of Highschool of the Dead because I'm kinda like "wow, that's so cool of him/her" for most of the characters.

Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai's Miyako attracted me and made me more hooked to the show, while Mayu weirded me out a bit because of the overused horsey – other than that she's also quite cute. Then I'm bombarded by Mayu fans and now I think I'm the weird one. I swear it's just the horsey that bothers me; I admire her during battle and her cute reaction when praised. Fair enough, Mayu fans? Hehehe. The censorship is starting to bother me though. Freaking horsey... again.

Cubed Cutthroat Cutie (C3) grabbed a small bite of Blood-C gore and it became more interesting.

Guilty Crown started strong, but at the end of episode 2, it is in danger of losing its momentum. Also, we all know that most series that start too strong end up like "meh, it was okay." Still worth following because of the female protagonist, who is definitely one of my type. Confidence is just oozing out of that hot chic.

Anime / Re: Teach me Japanese!

Thank you for overdoing it. Hehehe. Informative as always. The advantage of your lessons to me is when I learn some new things, I'll start to look/listen for them in anime. Hence, I learn and be more familiar with them quickly because of the encounters. And now with the verbs, I'll start pausing and skipping back to those verbs I heard. Please keep it up.

...wait, no future tense? Or is it unnecessary? I remember anime characters using present tense while the translation said it on future tense.

If so, then let's move on to particles. I only seem to hear o (wo) and ga and I thought ha (wa) was considered one of those, before you told me what actually it was. It's another topic I have no idea about.

Anime / Re: What Did You Just Finish?

No. 6

Halfway into No. 6, I thought it was Nabari no Ou all over again. Nabari no Ou lured me in with its fantastic action scenes and good concepts regarding their skills and powers, only to turn to a totally different direction with the MC's BL tendencies. It lost the elements I liked halfway and replaced it with the MC's incomprehensible obsession over an introvert with a death sentence. However, since No. 6 only had 11 episodes, I thought I could just forced myself through it (I deleted Nabari no Ou when I was right in the middle of the series).

Rejoice! After finishing No. 6, I found out that it wasn't totally that bad. If you can stomach M2M kissing (I couldn't), the story is not bad at all. During late episodes though, it lacks a few explanations about what's going on.

Just a little rant, though:

Personally I'd give it a 1/5, but thinking logically and imagining I wasn't homophobic, maybe it's 3/5.

I would definitely appreciate a bit of introduction with the verb suffixes. Nouns and adjectives seem to have a few suffixes I usually encounter, like the -mono in nouns and -i of adjectives, but by far the suffixes of verbs seem so many I can't even keep track of them all. I've encountered -te (you gave me pointers for this), -ta, -shite, -shiteru and some others that I probably didn't notice. I think they have different suffixes for tenses, but that's just a guess -- based on my observations, of course -- but nonetheless still just a guess.

Along with that, I'd like to know normal, everyday verbs. I mean, look at what I know -- tatakau, mamoru, nigeru, taberu (definitely anime knowledge, right?) -- aside from taberu they're not normally used in a normal, modern-day conversation. Well, a few things that you can easily squeeze off your knowledge would be nice.

Thanks man!

Meh, we're just having fun here. Plus it's actually fun having someone teach you. So if I was that serious about learning Japanese, I'd definitely go for a classroom setting. I'm so bad at studying by myself.

Some others that I could squeeze off my head:

Kane - money

Is Katana the only word for sword? Even those English broadswords or those jeweled one-handed swords, they call katana.

Is Shoganai and Shikatanai the same?

Oh yeah, uh, this one still needs confirmation; I'd repeat this because it might come in handy someday.
Ojamashimasu or something - said when entering another person's home

Still need to organize all these productive conversations into the top post but it's peak season at work, so I barely and will barely have time 'til the middle of November.
